TEACHERS OF THE SMOLENSK STATE AGRICULTURAL ACADEMY WERE PRESENTED WITH KEYS TO APARTMENTS
Last year, the Ministry of Agriculture launched a support program to provide modern, comfortable housing to employees of agricultural research institutes and universities. After 10 years, new housing can be purchased for 1% of the cost.
This is a unique, targeted program aimed at preserving the industry's talent pool. It's important not only to attract young people to the agricultural sector but also to retain those who train future specialists, conduct scientific research, and develop new varieties and technologies.
The Smolensk State Agricultural Academy was the largest participant in the program: 56 apartments and private houses were purchased for faculty members. Approximately 279 million rubles in state support was allocated for this purpose.
Oksana Lut, together with Smolensk Region Governor Vasily Anokhin, ceremoniously presented the keys to their new homes to 10 Academy employees.
"Agricultural university professors do the most important thing for the industry every day – they impart knowledge, experience, and a passion for the agricultural sector to their students. Therefore, we strive to ensure our professors have comfortable living and working conditions," said Oksana Lut.
